For people who have lost a lot of weight... Loose skin?

My question goes out to those of you who have lost a substantial amount of weight. How much loose skin did you end up with? Some additional information about you and your weight loss journey would also be nice, as I'm trying to figure out what my chances are of ending up with a bunch of loose skin. I know it's important to lose it at a sensible rate, stay hydrated, and include plenty of strength training in my exercise regime. I'm a woman, 22 years old, 5"3, and 277 lbs (this is my first week, 278 was my starting weight). Since I'm looking to lose about 150 lbs (my ultimate goal weight is 130 lbs) I know I'll have some loose skin, but the fact that I'm young, and doing it the healthy way gives me some hope. Also, when my mom (who is thin, maybe a size four) had her children, her loose skin snapped back in a matter of days, with little or no effort. And I've seen her stomach, which after two kids (me and my brother), is still completely flat and non-saggy. So... Thoughts?

PS. Even if I knew I would end up with a lot of loose skin, it would be worth it. Although the thought of an "apron" of skin doesn't exactly thrill me, I would rather have it than go on living like this.

    Hey there!

I'm still pretty new to this game but I've made alot of progress and dont plan on stopping so..here's a bit about me.

I'm also 22 and I'm 5'4. I started at 238 lbs. After some hard work changing my diet, I've lost 40 lbs now. I'm down to 198 as of today and the number keeps ticking down.

I can tell that I'm going to have some lose skin, but I dont know how bad it will be yet. I also had a baby and that doesnt help my elasticity either. But so far, my skin isn't all that bad. seems to be bouncing back alot better than I thought it would be.
