what to do...

Okay so I've been pretty sad for awhile now. Its not normal because its been so long and I have many days of just wanting to lay in my bed and mope. I only feel good when I work out if I can even do that. I've been under my calorie count, but not eating well because im to worn out to go to the store. My husband just goes and he buys allot of processed and frozen food. I felt good going once when I bought salad stuff, fruits, veggies and while grains.. Just once.. Well if I had the energy I could get things straight and go myself when I know our budget will be ok. I felt good for about a week in the beginning, drinking water, decent food, working out on the elliptical, zumba etc. Well, I've been sore and tired as heck and can hardly move and extremely tired. Sleeping so hard I missed my alarm for work twice. What can I do besides depression medication.. Maybe some thing at the health food store..? Anybody every in this situation before? Im even more stressed about what is the right thing for me.. The doctor only prescribed me depression meds and idk how to talk about other options.. I found some things at the health food store on line.. It says it helps with moods and depression, even anxiety. Should I try out or ask the doctor.. Im even irritated thinking about what to do!! I know this stuff costs allot and meds are I only like $5.. But I need some thing for my muscles to..any help would be great.. Thanks! Im tired of feeling so crappy.

Have you been tested for vitamin d levels? I thought maybe I need something because I felt blue, run down, and over all icky but after a simple blood test it turns out my levels were super low. It might be a good place to start.
Also, if you don't feel comfortable talking about anything and everything with your doctor maybe shop around for a new one. Open lines of communication and mutual respect is the most important part of medical care. I can always say... So I know a friend or I read on line blah, blah, blah and we talk about if its good for me and my situation.
Good luck. Hope you feel better soon.0 -
I am not a doctor -- or at least not a medical doctor, so this is not medical advice.
What you are describing sounds very much like depression. Is there a reason why you are resistant to the medication your doctor prescribed you? I am very much in support of natural remedies and medication as a last resort. But I will tell you that I had all of the symptoms you describe, and it was only getting on medication for depression that helped them abate. I resisted for a long time, with a long list of reasons: It was a crutch, it meant I was weak, it would make me falsely happy, you name it. I tried a number of natural remedies (St. John's Wort, SAM-e, and others), diet, and exercise. Ultimately I needed the serotonin boost the meds gave me. I still do my supplements, my vitamins, eat whole food, and exercise. But as my doctor said, "If you had diabetes, would you refuse to take your insulin every day because you think you should be strong enough to not need it? This is the same thing -- there is something going on in your body that has nothing to do with will power or strength."
I know not everyone agrees, and not everyone benefits from depression meds. But it is worth exploring with your doctor why you might be resistant to them.
I can unequivocally say that without my medications, I would not be here today. And I will also say unequivocally that my medication does NOT give me a pass on doing all the others things I need to do to take care of myself.0 -
you just need to go shopping and get good food and make sure youre eating enough. lack of nutrition is the problem here.0
