What is macros?

I'm sure everyone on here knows what they are because everyone seems to talk about them all the time. What are they? Why are they important? Are they bad for you? Etc. Tell me everything, lol.

Macros are macronutrients (carbs, fats, proteins). Carbs are your body's preferred source of energy. Fat is important for hormonal regulation. Protein is important for retaining/building muscle. They do other things as well, but that's each macro's main function. Ideally you should have a balance of these.
