Job stress=I AM HUNGRY!

Soo, if you don't mind, please allow me to vent for a minute.

I am currently an English teacher in a youth facility for juvenile delinquent and drug and alcohol children. The job is tough, but I love the kids and it's really not as bad as most people would assume; however, the company I work for and the people I work with are THE most unprofessional idiots I have ever met.

Last week, HR came in and told us that due to lack of client population and financial issues, parts of the program would be shutting down--as a result, 30% of our staff is being cut. We we were told we would find out next Wednesday (which is today). So essentially, we spent the last week stressing and wondering if we would have a job, how we could afford our lifestyles, and alla that other stuff people think about when their livlihoods are being placed in danger.

Low and behold, we all sit down for our daily 8 a.m. meeting, waiting nervously...and they never show up. They didn't call or email to reschedule, they simply did not show up. I AM FURIOUS!

To make matters worse, I am having bloodwork done today and have to fast until 1 p.m. I am STARVING and stressing and all I want to do is run to Burger King before my kids get to school. And I hate fast food! I just need something to do so that I am not sitting wondering when I'll know if I'll be able to pay my bills come next month.

AHHHHH! Thank you for letting me rant and rave!

Hope you all have a better day than mine is starting to be..

I know I do not know you but I am so sorry you are experiencing a lot of stress in your life. When I am dealing with life's challenges I try to remember that I am not in control of everything in life. I am in control of how I respond to those stresses. One thing that helps me is I just live in the moment. I take it one minute at a time. I try to keep eating healthy and exercising. Exercise really helps me with stress. Hope things get better for you real soon.
