Hi. I'm planning on trying this for the first time tomorrow. I normally eat about 1550 calls a day and exercise 5 days a week (burning between 600-1000 cals)
My question is I'm goin to fast tmrw and eat 600 calories-should I do my normal exercise for a Tuesday (45min rpm class and 45 min legs bums and tums) or cut back a little to maybe just do the legs bums and tums class.
Thanks for any help

I think that's up to you. There are definitely studies that go either way. I think you should feel it out and see how you feel when you do it. Most people who do IF suggest doing a fasted workout and then consuming a full meal afterwards. You can also look up Controlled Fatigue Training (CFT) that is all about working out while fasted (and Warrior diet).
I like to work out fasted but sometimes it's more difficult than others (especially at first), in my opinion, you should feel it out. Plan to do your full workout but if you don't feel well, lighten it up. If you feel great, do a full workout. Sometimes I just take it a little bit slower but sometimes I feel great and go full out.0 -
If you are doing a true fast diet (I am guessing you are looking at the 5:2 fast that seems to have gotten traction, especially in the UK) you would fast for 2 days but then eat at maintenance or in a small surplus the remainder of the time. You do not want to restrict calories on the days you aren't supposed too. Too large of a calorie deficit will cause your body to lose muscle.0

Hi Nikki I've cut down my calorie intake today and tomorrow too. Then i will eat normal for 5 days with in reason of course. I have dieted like this for years on and off, but didn't know this kind of dieting had a name..lol When you do Intermittent Fasting(IF) don't do it week after week, give yourself a break from it as its not good to stay on it all the time. I've started to do this diet as i got stuck last week. As for exercises i used to do them as normal as long as i felt ok or i would do less if feeling under the weather
Unfortunately i am limited to how much and what exercises i can do these days, so i just do my own thing walking on the spot ( I know it sounds daft lol) and a couple of other light exercises that i can manage on my own steam and it works for me. Good Luck with your diet and make sure you drink plenty of water. tc Sarah0
