Exercises with a foot injury

I am wondering if anyone can give me some ideas for exercises to do with a foot injury. My right foot is bruised and it hurts to put weight on it, even with a bandage. (the pain is gradual and it gets to the point where it's overwhelming). I have an appointment to get it checked out with the doctor but in the meantime is there any good exercises you would recommend to help with this? I have made a lot of progress since being on MFP and would prefer not to backslide. Thanks much!

When I had a stress fracture on my ankle, the only things I could do was seated weight lifted (just not leg stuff) and biking.
:drinker: to a speedy recovery!!!0 -
I'd say upper body. If your foot/ankle hurts, stop what you're doing. That's what my doc told me last week for my shoulder. I'm still lifting upper body, but using lighter weights and stopping if it hurts. Doc thinks it's an over use/tendonitis issue. I'm also supposed to ice it 4x/day.
I'd say, ice it, baby it and get it looked at by a doc. Hope it heals quickly!!!0 -
I shredded the ligaments in my foot awhile back and still worked out by doing LOTS of stationary bike stuff and arm workouts. Do you have it in a brace at all?0

Thanks everyone. It ended up being a superficial blood clot in my foot. Doctors orders to stay off it and keep it elevated for a few days. Can't wait to get back to the gym soon. Have been doing arm workouts in the meantime.0
