ROUTE 66 / California!

Hi everyone,

I'm traveling out to California for work and decided I'm going to take route 66! Anyone have any recommendations of cool places to stop during my travels!?
Also, my destination is Hollywood. I've only been there one other time... So.. If you have any must see places there please let me know!

I'm looking for anything- stores, restaurants, tourist traps!

    All I can say is don't blindly follow the GPS! Cause you may find yourself in the middle of ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE! Dirt/sand roads and all. Be careful in your travels!

    Don't bother stopping in Barstow, it is a craphole. Unless you want to Visit the Harvey House, which isn't that cool.

    It ends at the Santa Monica pier, I definitely recommend.

    In fact, most of it through California goes through desert. :P

    we did ROUTE 66 in ARizona.......it was really cool. Can't remember the names of the little cafes.......but all were neat places. We just stopped at places that looked cool.
