the dreaded two month wall?

I'm most definitely a creature of habit. And up until recently, most of them were bad habits. I have gone two months without smoking, which is much needed & one month without drinking, just as a personal challenge. I started Power 90 roughly 60 days ago and things have been going really great. I dropped over 15lbs so far and am really want to reach my goal weight over time.

But for some reason, history seems to repeat itself... and again after two solid months of good choices, I fear of slipping back into old habits. I've been SUPER stressed and working almost 12 hour days Mon-Fri plus putting in roughly 8 hours per weekend, on top of getting sick the last week. I'm feeling better (health wise) and started looking for a better paying job with less hours.. but now struggling to find the motivation to do my daily work outs and stay under calories.

Has anyone else experienced this? I always feel like after a little success and commitment, I totally get side tracked and start at square one. What keeps you motivated?

My wife calls me a derogatory term for a vagina if I even think about missing a lift. It's good motivation.

I'm only one month in so have not felt this yet. I just remind myself what I'm doing it for. Also working out in the morning really helps me. Trying to work out after work everyday is just hard for me to do. Good luck!

    LMAO!!

I force myself to look back through old photos of me and say "that person does not live here anymore."

Yes, this happens to me. A lot.

You've had a lot going on. So first, be gentle with yourself and cut yourself some slack. I find we often treat ourselves worse than we treat our friends. What would you tell your best friend if she was feeling this way?

Next... take a few moments to think about WHY you're doing ANY of this.Truly reflect on what you are trying to achieve. Consider writing those things down to keep them top of mind.

Then - develop a plan. I find reassessing my goals, honestly identifying what is working and what's not - helps me. I do this at least once a month, usually once a week. Maybe this week you need to focus on finding time for yourself. Stress and crazy work hours can really jack up the best laid plans and sap your resolve. Know this, account for it, and then carry through.

My motivation waxes and wanes throughout the year (sometimes throughout the day!). Hormones, commitments, celebrations, even the weather can impact how you feel.

So... go back to that list of motivators. Read it again. And again. Shake things up a little perhaps. . . maybe you're getting bored. Enlist help. Call your friends or S.O. and let them know what you're trying to achieve and share this is a hard week.

    My very best to you!!!
