Thoughts on food dehydrator?

I was thinking about getting a food dehydrator. I love Tosca Reno and she highly recommends it. Anyone have one, and what do you use it for? I heard kale chips come out unbelievable, and that alone makes it seem worth it!

I have no idea what a Tosca Reno is but I do have a food dehydrator. Never thought about making kale chips in it, though I wonder if they would be as tasty as the oiled/salted/baked kind?
Generally I use mine to dehydrate herbs I grow in the summer (parsley, basil, sage, etc.). I have also used it to make yogurt! I have an Excalibur brand and it is quite good.0 -
Wow, yogurt? That is Awesome!
And Tosca Reno is the author of the Clean Eating cook books, and contributor to the magazine. She is also the publisher for Oxygen magazine, which is awesome!0 -
We mainly use it for drying fruit (apples, pineapple, bananas, etc). But can also make home made fruit roll ups and jerky....0
