How long is your workout?

Just how long is your workout. I started out just walking like an hr a day but once the weather got bad ( live in Michigan) . I moved on to the gym. I met a personal trainer who said to do 4-5 days a week . I was doing 30 min of treadmill , 30 min of circuit training and another 30 min of cardio. I haven't lost anything in a month . I'm sure I've gained muscle but I also want to see weight loss. Am I over doing it ? Change my routine?

Have you taken progress photos to see if your body shape has changed despite the scale staying the same? Are your clothes fitting any differently?
Also, how long has it been since you've reassessed your calorie needs and how long have you been doing the same program? Going from walking an hour/day to circuit training requires different calorie levels and calorie types and some people adapt to workout programs differently than others; however, most people start to adapt after 8-12 weeks of doing the same routine.0 -
About an hour 6 days a week. I'm doing P90X, so it's a mix of circuit (3 days) and cardio (3 days). I rest one day a week. You may want to think about reducing the cardio and focusing more on lifting. You're not likely gaining muscle in your current routine.0

Maybe you should try something other then a treadmill/walking. Maybe starting with 30 minutes on an eliptical, bike or arc trainer instead of the treadmill?0

Weight loss = calorie deficit. If you're not seeing any weight loss, you're eating too much.
You may be gaining muscle, but certainly not enough to mask weight loss.
Weight loss isn't linear. You'll have weeks where you lose a lot (relatively), and weeks where you lose nothing. Be patient.0 -
If anything I was not eating enough. I was on 1500 cal and exercising an hr & 1/2 equaling anywhere between 500-800 cal a day for 6 days a week , and I never eat them back.0

I workout 5 days a week, no more than one hour. Anymore than that I'm just plain tired the next day, and more apt to skip the gym.0

I do 45 minutes to 2.5 hours, 4 to 5 times a week (4 in the winter, aim for 5 the rest of the year - also in MI LOL). I would say I probably average 3.5 to 5 hours a week, depending on my running schedule.0

Cardio 30-45mins
Weights 45 mins
Six times a week. Once a week I go twice a day to do a group fitness class.
My weight loss has been slow but I do lift alot of weight. You should start taking measurements. I did and discovered i have lost alot in inches.0 -
I do about 2 hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week. Saturday is a rest day and Sunday is an hour Zumba class. I do eat back some of my exercise calories - depends on how I feel, some days I want more calories. This is my 5th week of working out in a gym and my 3rd week on mfp. The only thing I don't like about working out is sweat dripping in my eyes!0

Personally I hate workouts longer than an hour. I like to go balls to the walls and be done with it, which I can't do for more than an hour without being totally gassed. I do 30-45 min of DVDs with cardio and strength circuits 3 or 4 days a week. I also take a 1 hr ballet class 2 days a week, so I take 1 or 2 rest days depending on how sore I am. When it warms up I'll run outside for 3-5 miles.0

I have Sunday off...then weekdays I walk for 30 minutes every morning, do zumba for an hour M, W & F night (also Sat am)...Tuesday nights I bowl on a 2 person league (90 minutes throwing a 12# ball--it is a workout) Thursday night I don't do anything but relax... So on average 90 minutes per day except Sunday.
Edited for typo's0 -
I've been keeping a log and it turns out I'm averaging about 4 hrs a week. Crap, not nearly enough.0

On the weekends my training sessions are around 2 hours but during the week they're only about an hour0

About an hour is good enough for me. Occasionally I'll take a class at the gym called "fire and ice" that's 2 hours long. I'm totally pooped by the end of it.0

Somewhere between 6 & 15 hours per week. 1/2 of those hours usually come from a couple workouts on the weekend (long ride / run/ hike)0
-
Between forty five minutes and an hour, six times a week. Alternate cardio and weights.
As you can see from my ticker, it's working well for me. I don't believe I need anything more from a weight loss perspective. I'll probably add more over time, maybe even get back into martial arts, but I'll do it for fitness and fun, not weight loss.
With proper diet the vast majority of people shouldn't need to kill themselves at the gym, in my opinion.0 -
I exercise pretty much everyday, but average about 30 minutes a day. My weekly workout routine consists of three 5km runs and one 10km run and then I usually do a Jillian Michaels or pliates/yoga video on my non-run days.0

I work out anywhere between 2.5 hours - 4 hours/ week depending on what I'm doing.0
