Tiredness and hunger

I am ravenous today! I am not normally this bad after a lunch of baked potato and baked beans but today i am ravenous. I have drunk a fair amount of water today and am still drinking water to fill me up.

Thing is I'm exhausted and I think my hunger is cos I'm so tired. Does anybody else get like this? I eat well and often to sustain my blood sugar levels so it's not a dietary thing.

Both baked potato and baked beans are fast carbs. So you are probably tired from the down after they metabolized. Eat a fast carb with a slow carb and you will get your energy.

When I don't get enough sleep I feel extra hungry as well...I've always wondered why that is!

Lol, good to know it is not just me!

I didn't think it was the food as normally that does sustain me because baked beans are low GI, and full of protein which fills you up! Have since had a ryvita and am still ravenous!

If you are tired you will be generally be more hungry than usual that day. I mean like 4 or 5 hours sleep if you are used to 8.
When I start my early week of shifts I am always tired on the first one and extra hungry. I guess its just the body screaming out for energy.
I think its the same as the night after a few bevies I get super hungry for rubbish choices. Ps i love Baked potato and Beans but I always have to have a little cheese and margarine. Fantastic lunch but I'm trying to keep carbs down so potato are out the window at the moment lol.

  • Thanks Ben,

Potatoes are really the best option for me as I have school dinners (I'm a teacher and get them free!) and the other options are not particularly healthy and I just cannot afford to buy stuff when I can get it free! Lol. Although the carbs are difficult to keep down when having potatoes most days. lol.

I have slept really well the last couple of nights but it is now getting towards Easter break so I think my body is just starting to shut down early for the holiday! Will probably be like this next week too. :-(

    Thanks though. xx
