I have been trying to find my BMR and I am so confused!! Every place I go gives me something different so which do I use? My Fitbit says my BMR is 1136 and myfitnesspal says it is 1399. I tried four other websites and got 1473, 1480, 1631, and 1912. I am 5 feet 4 inches, I weigh 157.4 pounds, and I am a 34 year old female. Thank you in advance!!!!

Yes, using all of these calculators will drive you mad because they are gross estimates. Determine your BF% - your local gym will have someone on hand to take the measurements with calipers, and you can compare that result to the military BF test (google it). Once you find out the figure, do a BMR test with this calculator: http://www.calculatorpro.com/calculator/katch-mcardle-bmr-calculator/

I suggest this calculator as it makes use of the Katch-McArdle equation, which takes into account BF and is more accurate for folks who deviate significantly from the mean (i.e. overweight or underweight people).

    Hope this helps.
    Any suggestions?????

They all use approximate ways to calculate your BMR, which is very difficult to measure precisely. To find out, pick one estimate, add your estimated exercise energy expenditure (to get an estimate of your TDEE), and eat that amount for a couple of weeks. If you neither gain nor lose weight (measuring at the same time of day and state of hydration), it's about right. If you gain wait, the estimate is too high, if you lose weight, it is too low. The FitBit estimate does seem on the low side, for what it is worth, and 1912 seems high.

Since you got 3 readings between 1400 and 1500 I'd say it's somewhere in there. What you need to know moreso, however, is your total daily energy expenditure (TDEE)... go for the scooby's workshop link or Fat 2 Fit Radio.
