Work them. Get on some kind of program or regimin that incorperates ab work on a regular basis. 3-4 times a week with cardio as well. That will definintely get the ball rolling.0

Abs show with overall fat loss. You won't get them with crunches. Start a lifting program and cut calories.0

For abs to show on most women you have to get your body fat at or below about 15%. That happens with overall fat loss. Most fitness models don't maintain that year round.. they diet down for photo shoots & contests.0

No. I have abs and I'm about 18-19% BF.0 -

That's great
Your abs much be really good size, I have 13-14% body fat have have top four abs, need to loose another 2-3% fat and get them bigger - but great to hear women are still getting them

Overall fat loss is the way to go. It kind of depends whether you're an apple or a pear kind of shape for the bodyfat percent you need to show them. You need to burn fat with some core conditioning, you can crunch till the cows come home but if you have fat there they wont show :P0

Question is what kind of abs do you want?0

It's genetics as to when, but many women have them at the 19 - 20% mark.0 -
Abs are made in the kitchen. Ditch all processed food and pufa oils, start lifting heavy and you'll get there. I don't agree with the 15% body fat, mine show up at 20%. It has a lot to do with body composition and where your fat tends to sit.0

abs are pretty much all about with your diet. You can get amazing abs doing a few 30 minute workouts a week if your diet is right and your BF is low enough.0

Get down around 16% bodyfat.
Correction. For a six pac it really is down around 15% or lower for most women, but just to have some definition (like the two vertical lines that run down your torso) it's probably more like 18-20% for most women. Higher if your fat sits on your hips, lower if your fat sits on your tummy.0 -
Water retention also covers abs - hence diuretics and low carb diets...0
-
strict (meaning calorie and macro controlled) diet, and effective strength training. you basically want to promote fat loss while minimizing muscle loss, and bring yourself down to a relatively low body fat percentage. make no mistake, this takes hard discipline.0

What's wrong with a basic caloric deficit?0 -
You can have abs without much muscle - look at Brad Pitt in fight club haha.,...strict (meaning calorie and macro controlled) diet, and effective strength training. you basically want to promote fat loss while minimizing muscle loss, and bring yourself down to a relatively low body fat percentage. make no mistake, this takes hard discipline.0

Well if u want it fast PSMF dumps a lot of excess water... literally I did PSMF for 1 week and my abs showed up... but yeah u still need to get low enough BF where dumping water will reveal the abs...Protein Sparing Modified Fast

just track your macros. 20% of your daily caloric intake should be fats ONLY.0

How does dietary fat relate to abs?
in order to shred fat and be able to have a tone midsection you need to generally consume less fats. follow the 40 40 20 macro ratio of protein carbs and fats and you will see a difference and also certain exercises you do at the gym speeds up muscle definition of your abs such as hanging straight leg raises with a slow eccentric component and trunk rotation using the cable column machine to stabilize and strengthen the core. if you are doing mat exercises for abs you are wasting your time.0 -
You could do that or you could do it the fast way with a high protein/low carb or high fat/low carb diet.just track your macros. 20% of your daily caloric intake should be fats ONLY.

Abs are finally starting to show for me and I'm at about 18% BF. Lift, Lift, Lift and I've found body weight exercises also really help (planks, push-ups, chin-ups, etc).0

you could go with high fats and low carb diet but the problem is you will not stick to that kind of diet for long as your glycogen storage will eventually be depleted which causes a person to over eat and binge leading to oneself feeling ****ty and depressed for doing so. you need carbs for fuel for activities like your job, the gym, focusing in school. Plus, food choices will not be consistent and your body need a balance between carbs, fats, and protein. if you are going to go with a low carb diet, one should probably do carb cycling instead. but do what works for you i guess. what do i know i'm fat and out of shape so i have no right to comment. im sorry.0 -
