I work as a tax accountant and I do fine with eating til 5pm. At that time, all I want are snacks. I usually grab a handfull of baby carrots or some pretzel sticks. But when I am out of either I tend to grab whatever is in the breakroom which includes chips. Anyone have a clue why I am hungry then or have any suggestions of things to try to break me of this habit.

I would say that you need a healthy snack around 4:00-4:30. Protein would be great. A cheese stick and some veggies. An apple and almond butter. Some almonds and grapes.
What time do you have lunch? If you have too long of a stretch between lunch and dinner or lunch and snack time your body will let you know it.0 -
How much are you eating for the day (total)? Maybe you simply aren't eating enough calories throughout the day...0

Sounds like you get hungry around 5pm. Armed with this knowledge, plan ahead and bring some nutritious food with you that you can eat at 5pm. Alternately, try eating heavier prior to 5pm and maybe you won't be as hungry.

Your blunt honesty has saved me from a fate worse than death before: the quarter squat!0 -
1200 - 1400 cal per day. I eat lunch around noon. Then I usually eat supper around 6-7 at night. I try to do a light snack at 3 of a vegetable or piece of fruit but this doesn't seem to help. I will try the suggestion of eating some protein.0

Maybe try upping your calories to 1300-1500 to make it more doable. Too much hunger makes it unmanageable. You'll still lose on 1500 calories a day. It may not be a fast and dramatic weight loss like we want it to be but it will still happen and slow and steady wins the race.0
