Hello, welcome. Ten pounds by June is doable. Portion control is the key, try getting in the habit of watching what you eat. Try and switch to whole grains products, whole wheat bread, brown rice, stuff of that nature.
Try and get cardio and weight training in your life and lots of water.
If your doctor permits it, then try and reduce your calorie intake. I do 1200 per day, depends on your needs or medical requirements, then somewhere around that should be good. Eat atleast 6 times per day, 3-4 hrs between each meal. A nice breakfast, cereal oats, eggs, wheat. try and cut out fried items. After breakfast, your midmorning snack can be a fruit. Then you have lunch, put your starch in this meal, with some veggies and your meat, but make sure you measure or weigh, so you can put in the system how many cup or portion you had so this website can tell you how much calories your meals are. Then for midafternoon snack have another fruit. Dinner should be atleast 2 hours before you go to bed. Personally I have cut out starch for my dinner meals, its up to you, but if you do starch, then small portions.
However the best way to loose wight, is to ensure you do some form of cardio and weight training while you are dieting, your body will get toned, and looked that much awesome.
It takes time. June is a realistic time frame to loose 10 pounds. Thats three months away
Thats why this website is so awesome, it has pretty much all foods listed, so it can tell you the amount of calories that was in that meal.Log everything you eat, whether you cheated or not. So you can see exactly how you did.

Agree totally with the above poster. It is a very achievable goal. I actually lost 19lbs in the 1st month here and have done nothing different than what she said. I have also kept it off and lost more since then. Portion control, low sugars and healthy grains and carbs. WATER>>>WATER>>>>WATER!!!!0

Great advice from all!
I would also remember to make sure you are eating your calories you get from exercise... make sure you do not go into starvation mode. I'm also trying to lose 10 pounds and I got so gung-ho about eating less that I actually wasn't eating enough (lucky for me) and then I stoppped losing weight altogether. Good luck!!0
