Supplement Question

Has anyone had any experience with a testosterone booster called Mancore from Complete Nutrition? I highly doubt it works but I'm just curious if anyone has any history with it.

Which particular product are you referring to? They have several.

All of them appear to contain 'Long Jack', which has been shown in studies on rats to increase free test levels. I haven't seen a peer reviewed study of it's effect on humans, though most of the companies who sell products with it in there swear their particular blend has been tested on humans. Of course they do...

That being said, I have used Blue Star Status (the wife won it in a transformation contest, so I figured screw it, why not?), which also contains Long Jack. However, it also contains Fenugreek, which has been shown to increase libido in men, and most take this as a sign of increased free test levels. I have only run one five day cycle, and haven't had serum test levels re-checked as of yet, so no real personal thoughts on it as of this moment.

Basically, to my knowledge, they can help, but only but so much, and it REALLY depends a lot upon the quality of the stuff used in the supplement, not just the name of it, if that makes sense.

Oh, and as for the DHEA in it:

    CONCLUSIONS:
The results of this study suggest that supplementation with 100 mg x d(-1) of either androstenedione or DHEA does not independently elicit a statistically significant increase in lean body mass, strength, or testosterone levels in healthy adult men over a 12-wk period.
