Travelling - Australia & Germany

I'll be traveling soon to Australia and have some food intolerances. Are wheat free and dairy free foods easily accessible and can you get hold of Almond milk too?

As I can't bring food in with me, it will help to know if these foods can be bought easily e.g. supermarkets

Thanks so much.

    Australia:
Almond milk is available in all supermarkets, so, usually, is wheat free and gluten free bread. 'gluten free' is a label that I see a bit more often than 'wheat free'.
Germany: there are excellent organic food shops -Bioläden - try them.
  • In the cities you should be able to find them reasonably easily, in regional australia you might have a harder time with speciality products
  • Gluten-free and lactose-free products are widely available in Germany. Two brands of almond milk are Alpro and Provamel, look for the label "mandeldrink". Gluten-free products are labeled "glutenfrei", I know they sell the Swedish brand Semper and I'm sure there are plenty of German brands too. Airports have a list of gluten and lactose-free options at their restaurants on their web sites, and in other restaurants it should be labeled or just ask. I'm fairly sure you'll have no problem finding similar products in Australia, though I don't know any brand names to look for.

Austria or Australia? One makes a lot more sense than the other. Or you are having an epic trip. Probably might want to double check those reservations though.

Thanks everyone:) that's great news and I shall keep a note of the brands! I'll be in towns & cities so no problems with choice. Yes two separate trips. One to Oz and one to Germany!
