I read somewhere that pesto has "good fat" as opposed to mayonnaise which has "bad fat".
But if you're trying to lose weight shouldn't you be cutting out fat?
I think I have a lot to learn about the foods I have to eat!
Can anyone recommend a good link like "nutrition for dummies"?
I know what I shouldn't eat ....
Thank you in advance!

There's lots of conflicting opinions regarding fat. Personally I like the theory that if it's not highly refined and is close to natural, I'm good to go.
Pesto traditionally is made from olive oil and olive oil if cold pressed is a good source for fats, but you could use other oils as well. Mayo is basically oil, egg, lemon and a few spices, not what I would consider a bad fat especially home made.0 -
Dietary fat doesn't make you fat; eating at a caloric surplus leads to fat. In fact, people keep freaking out about fats causing higher cholesterol, but recent studies have shown that dietary cholesterol doesn't cause higher blood levels of cholesterols. So, eat the good fats. All of them.0
