Hello, just signed up today... I'm new to the site, had weight issues for years and only really tried to do anything about it within the past couple. I'll work out for a couple weeks, start to see progress, and then drop off for 6 months. lol I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding in July, so I really need to step things up to feel comfortable in that dress! I thought I'd give this a try because maybe what I'm lacking is actually getting a visual of what I'm doing and what I'm eating.
I'm determined to "get it right" this time. Lazy is easy for me, and nothing worth it is easy. Today is my 8th day of changing my diet and increasing exercise. I've been switching between step aerobics with weights to Jillian Michaels' 30-Day Shred. I've been stuck on Levels 1 & 2 forever, just gave the third level a try yesterday and today, and I LOVE it. I feel more engaged, although very sore afterwards. lol She is BRUTAL... but she gets the job done.
Food-wise, my main weakness is sugar, which I've been trying to mostly avoid but allow myself a treat one day a week. It seems to keep the cravings at bay if I give myself something to look forward to "if I'm good." I've also been trying to increase my water intake and am finding that the more I drink it, the more I seem to crave it. I've lost 3-1/2 pounds since really applying myself, but looking more for the "damn, my clothes are loose" progress than at the scale.
Anyway... I'm open to giving and getting encouragement, especially if we're kind of on the same wavelength with diet and exercise! Thanks for letting me ramble, I look forward to getting to know the site and its users!
