Body Fat % ?

I'm not sure it this is the right forum to ask this question but...
My bathroom scale is a Taylor brand "body fat analyzer & scale" type. Bought it probably 10 years ago or so. The scale is fairly accurate, though usually about 3 pounds higher than at my doctor's office.
My question is about the body fat % readout. Mine has consistently stayed at 35-36% since I bought it. (Okay, I haven't used that feature in the last few years, but way back when I DID, and again now, that is what it reads.)
Are these scales generally considered accurate measurements for body fat?
