Calf muscle pain

Anybody experience constant calf muscle pain in one of their legs?
I started working out again about a month ago. I've only been doing walking though, nothing too strenuous. For the past two weeks I've had a constant pain in my lower right calf. It hasn't prevented me from doing my walks and the pain is no worse after doing them, but it is very uncomfortable.
Could this be my body getting used to activity again or something more? Am I maybe lacking something in my diet, could it be more severe??? I do have an appt with my doc next week, but just wondered if anyone else has experience with something like this.

Have to add that I'm on my feet for a good portion of the day, with having a home daycare business and two kids of my own.0

Not sure how old you are, and if you are on any meds, but I had the same problem after losing about 20 lbs. I take a cholesterol medication, and it turned out because I was now exersizing and being more active, as well as loosing weight, I was actually over medicated. I stopped taking the meds and the muscle pain in my legs ( Calves ) went away within 3 days. About two weeks later I went i for a cholesterol blood test and everything is within acceptable levels. I will monitor monthly for a few months just to make sure, but the pain is gone. Hope this helps.0

Thats what all my friends told me when I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I started doing a lot of cardio and really have never done that. One of calves hurt tremendously. I iced it like crazy (made an ice pack and wrapped it up on my calf with a long elastic bandage). Before I worked out I would rub some roll on icey/hot for muscle relaxation. ibuprofen helps too. After taking it easy (but still working out - just not too hard), it eventually worked itself out.

Ha, I know I'm getting old but I'm only 30!!
I'll try the ice thing and rubbing some ointment on it to see if that helps.
Due to hormonal issues, I am on a low dose anti-depressant and hormone replacement. The anti-depressant is something that's just been added recently to my regimen so I wonder if it has anything to do with the pain.0 -
Not sure what your eating plan looks like, but when I was doing a low-carb high-protein diet, I would constantly get "charlie horses" in one of my legs. A friend suggested that maybe I was depleting my lean muscle mass to quickly by adhering to a low-carb, high protein diet. So once I eased up a little and added more healthy carbs to my diet, they went away.

Are you stretching? I am not flexible and when I really hurt I know it is because I have been slacking on the stretching. There is a nice DVD for about $10 called Rodney Yee's Yoga for Beginners. It is great for starting a streching routine because it has two segments that are short - 15 minutes and 20 minutes! Using a foam roller also can help. I am sure there are tutorials on YouTube for how to use them correctly on your calves.0
