do you count the bone when measuring streak

when you but the steak on the scale do you count the bone or do you subtract the bone from the measurements because im having streak tonight and i want to make sure im eating 8oz of steak ( for the protein) thanks

No, the bone doesn't count towards the weight. If you look at the food databases (like FDA or Health Canada) they are always based on edible portion, sometimes they are lean only, sometimes lean and fat (you have to watch). If I am at home, I weigh any meat that is bone-in before I eat, then weigh the bone afterwards and subtract it. As far as I know, restaurants have to state the weight of the edible portion as well. Enjoy it, I'm jealous, I can only eat 5oz at a time and I LOVE steak!0
