Hi!!
I decided on January 15, 2013 that I was not happy with how I was looking or feeling and that it was time to do something so I started cutting crap out of my diet, and I started to exercise regularly (that's a new one for me!). I have lost 8lbs so far (I'm at 152) and I'm looking to get down to 130lbs. So far, I've been walking (briskly) about 2 miles daily plus I've been going up and down the stairs (15) 50 times about 3 times a week, treadmill for about 30 minutes, also activities such as jogging in place, dancing crazily, jumping jacks & all the other stuff I've read that I should do to make me sweat my *kitten* off. I'm currently doing some form of exercise for at least an hour a day, every day (more on weekends). Do I need to step it up? Relax? I'm VERY new at this regular exercise stuff, for the first time EVER I'm actually looking forward to working out daily, but I wanted to know if you think I could do something better? I am not looking at joining a gym for now, I do my walking at the park or around the neighborhood and I own a treadmill. I have 3lbs weights which I know are not much but it's 6lbs more than I was doing a month ago. So bottomline, I'm looking for helpful suggestions. I ordered the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred after reading all the raves about it so once that arrives in the next week or so, I hope to be doing that regularly, along with my regular mile-2 mile walk. What do you think???:flowerforyou:

Sounds like you definitely don't need to "step it up". 8 lbs in less than a month is a lot. Especially for someone your size. I think you should probably expect the losses to slow a little, which is actually a good thing.

As for the exercise, it depends on your fitness goals and time you can spend. Sounds like you have cardio covered, but I would throw in some strength training a couple times a week - and lift heavy. Those 3-6 lb girly weights aren't doing anything for you!

LOL @ girly weights. That's exactly what they are. What do you suggest? I thought 3lbs was a good start since I've seen a lot of USE CANNED FOODS suggestions & most cans I buy are 1lb max. Thanks!!
