wheat noodles vs egg noodles

I am hearing conflicting things about wheat and how you should cut down on pasta.. which I have, but I don't think I could ever cut it out completely. Are egg noodles better?

    Eat what you prefer and in a way that will keep you in your calorie goals.

    I eat wheat bread because it's 50 calories a slice and I can eat twice as much as white bread for the same number of calories. No other reason.
