Homemade pizza sauce ideas?

I know the obvious things I should put in, tomato paste & sauce, but what else or spices should I use?
Pre made sauce has too much sodium.

Just make it wish fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, fresh oregano, garlic, pepper in a magic bullet or food processor. Tomato paste isn't really necessary.

Here is my pizza sauce recipe.

    3 garlic cloves, minced
    3 tablespoons olive oil
1 (29 ounce) can tomato puree
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
    1 teaspoon dried basil
    1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Saute the garlic in oil for a minute or two and then add the remaining ingredients. Simmer 15-20 minutes on low-med.

i use hummus, or chilli sauce or whatever as a base. to make my own i'd blitz fresh or tinned tomatoes with garlic, herbs, a little olive oil and try and make sure it was thick enough to spread
