Help me with some lunch ideas!

I am a student and on the days I go to school, I have to take a bus at 8am and am home around 6:30pm.
There are no microwaves at my school and I don't have access to any kind of fridge.
I always take fruit, granola bars, and anything prepackaged, but I need more.
I need real food.
I am trying to avoid having to buy food at school, which is what I have been doing.
Help me!

  • Get a lunchbox that will help you keep your food cold, so you could take salads and sandwiches.
  • You can get a lunch bag that keeps things cool by putting a frozen ice pack in it. Or invest in a really good thermos to keep things hot.

A couple easy ideas I use are a small thermos. You can put juice fruits/vegetables and grab it out of a backpack anytime. Another is sliced vegetables. It's easy to cut up celery, peppers or carrots that can be kept in a ziplock bag. Another thing I do is make a protein/fruit shake to drink on my way in. It keeps my protein intake up threw the day and helps get in my daily fruit in first thing in the morning.

I never considered lunch bags that will keep food cold. Thanks!
  • In addition to the lunch boxes, I would also recommend a bento box. It helps portion out your meals and let's you organize them as well! I have a few stackable ones. I use one for lunch and another for snacks and they all fit nicely in my lunch bag.
