Hey man, I'm into bodybuilding too. I'm in a wheelchair, and am currently training for my 3 year goal of entering my first WCBB competition. Feel free to add me.
  • No way thats awesome, if thats not inspiration I dont know what is. Do you know if being a bodybuilder (with gaining muscle mass) affect someones bmi as I need my bmi to be 25, im currently at 29 with 30% body fat. Sorry if I seem clueless.

Muscle isn't taken into account in BMI. Thats why it sucks IMO. It just compares your weight to your height and tells you if you fit in the standard acceptable weight category for your height basically, regardless of whether that weight is muscle or just flab. When are looking at joining up?

I am nearly a year in with my training / weight loss. I would not pay much attention to BMI if you are going to build muscle as it just doesn't work. For example I am 168 pounds now and bmi says I need to be about 140 . I would look ridiculous as I am currently at 15% bf and not fat by any means. Sure need to get bf down further but at 140 pounds I would be a skeleton. Ill send and inv and good luck

I think if was you i'd concentrate on just losing some body fat and do some general strength work, plus building up your endurance of course.

The last thing you want to do fail medicals because your classed as overweight due to muscle you are carrying, that would suck majorly!!

My OH is army and he does weights generally but he's more into his cardio as he knows he needs to be as fit as poss for PT etc.
