body fortress taste like azz. Just sayin.
I suggest getting Trutein..or wheyology. Outstanding taste.0 -
I do the same thing most mornings...2 cups spinach, about 1 cup water, 1 cup frozen fruit (usually mango), 1 scoop of vanilla protein power...if I remember I add chia or ground flax seeds. Blend, drink.0

I can totally relate. Visit www.HollyWraps.com and order the It Works! Protien powder.... it is ONLY sweetened with stevia, no sugar or artificial sweeteners and doesn't have the "powdery" taste that most do. This is the first one I have found and like. It is so worth it!0

optimum nutrition gold standard mocha cappuccino tastes great just mixed with 1% milk. i actually feel like i'm cheating when i drink it.
none of this fancy schmancy shake mix stuff0 -
Blending with a frozen banana usually helps. Other ways to use protein powder are to mix it into pudding mixes, and making protein pudding, or pie; making mug cakes, or molten lava cake: 1 egg white, 1 scoop chocolate protein, 1 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 dash of baking soda, sweetener, and enough water to make it the consistency of cake batter. microwave for about 25 to 35 seconds depending on your microwave, (You want it fairly runny in the middle).
For many people protein powder can become an acquired taste. When you are looking for something sweet, and you haven't had real junk food for a while, protein powder can sometimes do the trick to satisfy the sweet tooth.
I actually prefer my protein pies, and desserts to the real thing, now. I know I'm getting nutrients out of my snacks with protein, rather than just filling my body with junk.0 -

You had me at mocha cappuccino LOL.....where do you buy it?0 -
A couple of ways ...
I use Optimum Nutrition Double Chocolate Whey Protein.
I put one scoop in a large coffee, add almond milk for "creamer" and then fill the cup up with coffee. Tastes sorta like hot choclate in coffee.
Also, my morning shake consists of 2 scoops ON whey protein, 4-5 strawberries, 1 banana, 8-10 pineapple *****s (Dole), 3 ice cubes and 3/4 to 1 cup of water. Blend and drink ... tasty!0 -
This isn't a shake idea, just another fun way to use your protein powder...I make a protein fro yo (it's an idea I got from Muffin Topless - www.muffin-topless.com - but tweeked a little):
1 scoop of protein powder
1 tbsp unsweetened natural cocoa powder
2-3 oz plain nonfat greek yogurt
1` tbsp natural nut butter (i like almond)
*Sometimes I add a small splash of soy milk
Mix together and put in the freezer for 20 to 30 minutes. I also like to add 1/2 tsp of sprinkles at the end. Great way to deter a sweet fix and still eat clean!
Eep! I am definitely going to try this sometime.
And thank you to everyone else for the recipes and suggestions on new powders!0 -
I LOVE smoothies with vanilla protein powder. I use about 1 cup of frozen berries, 1/2 cup milk, 1 scoop of Muscle Milk Vanilla Creme protein powder, and any kind of yogurt I have at the time. I used to add honey or sweet n' low before I used protein powder to sweeten it up but the vanilla creme is so sweet it tastes like ice cream in the smoothie and I don't have to add any sugar. It really satisfies my sweet cravings. I love these after working out.
This morning I also made some pancakes and added a little protein powder, I couldn't taste it at all.0 -
I throw a scoop of pure protein vanilla in about 1/2 of orange juice, toss in some frozen fruit (either market pantry mango berry mix or generic frozen random stuff) and blend until smoothied. If i'm feeling really empty, i'll throw a banana in there too.
pure protein is pretty cheap, but the vanilla blends into fruit flavors pretty well. I've done a chocolate/ice coffee blend with it before and i don't recommend it.
I've also heard of people adding it to their egg white/banana "pancakes" (1 banana, 1 egg white) to thicken up the mix and give it a little boost but i haven't tried it yet. I've been meaning to.0 -
How about just ditching the protein powder and perhaps getting the protein from egg whites and chicken instead?0

Try adding almonds instead of powder!0

I don't think I saw anyone else mention the GNC Lean Shakes. They come pre-mixed and in powder form. I love the pre-mixed ones, no chalky or after taste. I did switch to the powder for convenience of mixing it myself after I workout and with sales, the powder is more economical. I love the banana flavor in the powder! I mix one scoop of chocolate and banana too.0

Any of the vanilla flavored ones are good with add-ins. Banana, apple, berries, peanut butter, nutella, etc.
I do one scoop of Body Fortress Vanilla, 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk and one of the above... or actually I like it plain too.0 -
My brother started using protein powders a while ago and I've tried the ones he brought in. They all tasted like chemical crap to me. I was unhappy because I'm horrible for hitting my protein macros. So I went on the hunt. I decided that my major issue was the chemical flavour, not the texture (we blend into fruit smoothies). I found and purchased a protein powder with no artificial sweeteners (I can't stand them) and no artificial flavours. I figured that ought to help with the chemical taste and it DID! I have Perfect Nutrition's Diesel in French Vanilla which is sweetened with stevia and made with New Zealand whey isolate and it tastes amazing.0

I use 292 consentrate protien powder I get here at work (I work at a cheese plant). As far as I know, you can't even buy it this way -- absolutely nothing added. The flavor doesn't bother me because there's nothing in it. I use it every morning:
1T protein powder
3 whole strawberries or 2 strawberries & 2 peaches (frozen)
1 cup Silk Almond Milk Unsweetened
I've used honey in the past and it was fine as well.

I've been experimenting with it in baking, it's awesome!! I had to do something else besides smoothies, and thought I'd never use up the huge container, but baking w/it has been great!
I've been replacing about half the amount of flour a recipe calls for with the difference in vanilla protein powder...adds extra flavor, cuts calories, and the extra protein bulks up whatever I'm baking and hold me over longer. And everything has still been baking/rising as it should.
Feels like I'm indulging in banana bread, scones, breakfast bars/cookies, etc. I make big batches and freeze individually so easy to grab; great for breakfast, pre-workout, or in my case late night snacks and I don't end up ruining my day with 1 "treat".
Good luck!0 -
Isagenix. Undenatured whey protien, very yummy with water and ice in the blender.0

I like the Body Fortress Chocolate. The Muscle Milk is sweeter you should try that brand but it does have less protein. I got the strawberry for my teenage daughters whom play rugby and I wanted them to get more protein and they do not like mine.
Good luck:drinker:0
