Pizza HELP!

I can't for the life of me figure out what the calories would be for pizza with no cheese. I like to eat it original style...sauce, grated cheese, sometimes veggies on top. Anybody know a good resource or general calorie count?

If you make it yourself, enter it into the recipe builder. If you buy it from a store, search by brand name and enter the parts into your recipe builder. If you buy it from a pizza delivery place, you can get pretty accurate calorie counts from the store website.
  • If I am completely unsure of the calories in a recipe I usually use this, it's pretty helpful!

Do you make your own? If so, create a recipe in the recipe builder. If you are buying the pizza, you can ask the GM at the pizza joint if they have the calorie value of the crust, sauce and other toppings. What they cannot provide, you can figure with the recipe builder yourself and come up with something.

I have a better solution: Once every two weeks, say *kitten* it with the calorie count and treat yourself with a nice big pizza !

As others have said, you can try and build the recipe. But if you have a calorie count from the restaurant, just estimate how much cheese would be in the regular pizza and enter a serving size of -1 for the cheese and it will subtract those calories.

    Heh!
Yes, we have to eat healthy and not go with massive portions... but we need to treat ourselves.... as long as it's once in a while! .I thought about pizza this weekend.. what a coincidence!
Crappy food is good in the mouth at least once per 2 weeks! =P

Yep! and since I don't even like it with cheese, it's not THE WORST thing I can skip counting. I found a generic count in the database for like 134 per slice of a 12"....I guess that's good enough lol

There is an entry in the MFP database for Papa John's (I think) veggie pizza with no cheese.

If all else fails I just look up "pizza" and pick something on the middle to high end of calories and call it good. If you are a little over or under on your guess one day it won't be the end of the world.

Try flatout flat bread. only 140 calories and 26 carbs. 1/4 cup of prego is 20 calories, a half cup of Kraft fat free cheese is 90 calories, add some fresh mushrooms, tomatoes, even grilled chicken. It’s no Giordano’s from Chicago, but calorically not too bad.

If I can't find what I'm looking for in the db I usually just build it with everything that's on it, then write down the amounts and add it to my recipe section filling in the combined amounts as one.
