TIPS that are helping this BIG MAMA

I can finally start seeing a little progress since I started in Nov 1st, 2012.
Tips I've learned from since starting this life change
1. Don't sweat the small stuff - if you have a bad day today, then vow to do better tomorrow
2. If you're craving something, get it, eat a little then drink a full bottle of water. If craving still exist, eat a little more. But don't devour the whole thing in one sitting.
3. Don't be afraid to let family and friends know you're trying to change your habits.
4. Reward yourself for your accomplishments. My husband knows if I exercise 5 days a week, then I'm buying me a new item of clothing...whether its jeans, shirt, shoes, etc. Gives me a little more motivation to get up and get to moving.
5. Measure Measure Measure - you food AND your body. A good friend of mine told me when I first started, do not measure your accomplishments by the scale go by the inches you lose. The scale at times will dissappoint you and you may be tempted to give up when you don't see the progress you think you should.
6. Change your exercse routine... eventually your body will get used to doing the same routine each day... with my elliptical, one week I go pedal forward, next week I pedal backwards...
7. Work exercise into your schedule at work... everytime I go to the bathroom I do 10 squats. You figure if I go 6 times a day (with all this water I'm drinking) then I've done 60 squats before I get home.
These things may not work for some, but they have worked for me! Main thing is to do your own thing, try out different tips or techniques but find what works for you!
Sure I've only lost about 16lbs but about 27 inches from my body... but I'm not finished yet. Just getting started!
