kickboxing????

does anybody do kickboxing? if so how much do u usually burn? i am 191 trying to get to 150 but idk how much calories it burns the class is an hour i do the womens then coed and some times sparr after.. i bought a watch hrm and i did an hour of zumba and said i burned 80 cals .. not sure if that is right?? uugghhh im gonna wear it to kickboxing tonight but would like to know what others burn to see if i need to buy a fitbit

    I do kickboxing, but I don't wear a heart rate monitor. I thought about getting one, but you can't wear it with gloves on and I didn't want to get the one with the chest strap because you still get hit and kicked there too. However, if you're doing full contact kickboxing you're burning crazy calories if you're working hard.

    ummmm, pretty sure you burned more than 80 calories during an hour of zumba. It can be pretty intense. I've never used a watch style HRM. I've always had a chest strap...I don't know, they just seem more accurate to me. I've worn mine during a kickboxing class (with heavy bags) and burned approx 700 calories in an hour. I'm 5'7" and about 168 lbs.

    I kicked off my weight loss journey with kickboxing classes three times a week, one hour per class. I steadily lost 2 pounds per week (with healthy portion control and food choices outside of the gym, too) for the 6 weeks or so that I took the classes. I'm 5'1" and started at 160 lbs. I highly recommend it!

    I love kickboxing! It is a great cardio and strength workout (if you're using a heavy bag). Use the MFP calculator for your calories - it is probably a little high, but don't eat them all back.
