How much protein should I be eating per day?

My calorie limit is 1240 per day, but I feel so deprived! Most of it is just in my mind I'm sure...since I'm used to over-eating most days. If you wouldn't mind checking out my diary and giving me some suggestions? Should I be having eggs or a protein shake for breakfast? I also need super easy ideas for lunch at work. Thanks :)

    Consuming protein as food is better than a shake.

    Try having at least 1gram of protein per lbs of your body weight.

    Get hold of some tupperware boxes (3 for a dollar/pound) and take left overs to work the next day.

    You can even cook meals on sunday for monday/tues/weds in work and just warm them up.
