Confused on the Calorie Goal

I am a thyroid cancer survior and I am fighting the weight everyday. Back in 2010 got down to 184 and now I am back up to 228 due to medicines for my auto-immune disease. My doctor told me she wants me to workout for at least 45 min five days a week and that I was not eating enough calories. Last week was my first day back at the gym and I only went three days and walked the track for 30min each time. This week I have for three mornings got up early and did my walk at home dvd for 1 mile then gym at night for 30-45 min. and tried to stay between 1200-1350 calories for some reason I always go over the protein amount each day, is this bad? I weighed today and I had not lost one pound not even a half of a pound. So this next week I am going to try 1400 calories a day and see if this helps. Does anyone have any suggestions if I am still getting too many calories or not enough calories any help is greatly appreciated. I have my coffee in the morning and then I drink plenty of water...no soda sometimes unsweetned tea with dinner. thank you for taking the time to read my post......I am on the road to success I just know it.....

This link will answer tons of questions about calories, macronutrients, etc. The main thing is to find where your calories should be for fat loss and setting your macronutrient (protein/carbs/fat) ratios. It is ok to go over on protein and fat. For me, its very difficult to go over on carbs but I get as close as I can.
Congrats on kicking cancers @$$! Good luck with your fat loss journey - you'll do great!
