Sugar affecting weight loss?

I've just had a run through my diary, and I've noticed that my sugar intake is over the app's recommended amount. It's mostly from fruit, though I do also have a couple of (under 100 calorie) artificially sweetened snacks per day (like sweetened coffee, and dark chocolate).
My question is, even though I'm not going over my calorie limit, will the excess sugar make any difference in weight loss?

short answer: nope
you can do a search for past topics to see plethora of discussions on this. if it's mostly from fruit and you're under your total calorie goal, it shouldn't be an issue.0
