I'd like to lose 2 Lbs. a week, but am beginning to wonder if it is possible on here? I'd like to know your projected weight loss per week, and the real weight loss per week. Thanks

My projected weight loss is 1.1 or 1.2 lbs a week, but I do tend to lose around 2, most weeks. It's slowing down a bit though, now that I'm past the half way mark.0

The only way I could lose 2 lbs / week according to this site is to go in manually and change my daily calories to 615...obviously, not recommended and pretty much undoable anyways. So at 1200, the best I can hope for is 0.8 lb/week. Usually I lose 1/2 - 1 lb a week. We can't always attain those big numbers we would like to :brokenheart:0

projected loss is 2 lbs/week
actual loss is 0-3.5 lbs/week
averaging a bit more than 2 lbs/week0 -
Wow, I am really impressed by you guys that could lose 2 pounds a week!
I certainly wanted to but I haven't come anywhere close to that (I just calculated that I've lost 0.73 lbs a week so I feel pretty good about myself all the same )

Well, I am at maintenance now, but I averaged about 2.5 a week. I was pretty aggressive about my weight loss, but I always stayed at between 1600 and 2100 calories (depending on if I worked out that day), which is between 1.5 and 2.0 lbs a week.
I'm not sure why I lost more then that, I guess my best answer to that was, I put most of my weight on in the last 5 years, and never really completely lost my muscle tone, so my body remembered my "atheletic" years and as soon as I called upon it to perform again, it seemed to snap back pretty quickly. That also meant that most of my fat was near blood vessels (since the body stores fat from closest to the blood first) which meant my body could grab it very efficiently, where as people who have been overweight for a long time have fat in some pretty hard to reach places, which means their bodys can find it more efficient to burn more lean tissue instead of fat.
Every person is different, your body has it's own reasons for not hitting that 2 lb per week mark.
And remember 1 thing, the smaller you are as a person (frame, bone structure, organs) the more unrealistic 2 lbs is. In other words if your ideal weight is 190 -195 lbs (like mine) then 2 lbs a week isn't that hard if your 40 lbs overweight (like I was). but if your ideal weight is 135 - 140 then 2 lbs a week may be a bit unrealistic unless your obese. and remember, this also means that even if you were obese, as you become closer to your goal, you will have a harder time seeing those numbers.
One last thing, I lost fat quickly becuase I already had a pretty solid muscle base, if you are beginning exercising for the first time in a long time, while you are burning all that excess fat, your body is probably trying to build new muscle to support the exercise, this will add weight, so you don't see the loss, or the muscle at first. It will take a while if that is the case, but eventually the "scales" will tip and you will see progress eventually.
DON'T GIVE IN! I know you can do it.:bigsmile:0 -

I am averaging about 1.4 pounds a week and I am not ever hungry. To me that is wonderful!0 -
I think it depends on how much you weigh to start out. I havn't done my first weigh in yet but my projected weight loss is 2 pounds per week. honestly? it's been three days and my jeans are loose already. It's looking good. But say someone only needs to shed 10 pounds or so, well, that's going to be much more difficult because that person would need to be on very low caloric intake to lose 2 pounds a week.0

Yes, lost 3 this week. Eating a lot more fruits and veggies, having 4 small meals and not eating after 7 pm. It takes time.0

Supposed to be? No. But I'm losing nearly two a week anyway. That projected stuff is a rough estimate at best.0

I don't have the exact amount , but I set it so I could lose two pounds a week and so far I am and a little more. But I have a lot to lose and it could change. I Eat very low calorie foods, vegetables and fruits, and chicken w/no fat. Try to exercise as much as I can and consume the calories the calculator sets for me. It is going to take time for the weight to come off, but that's okay with me, I am eating healthier then I ever have and feeling better. Everyone is different so give it time, even if your only loosing a 1/2 a pound a week that is success.:drinker: I see you have lost 13 pounds that is great:drinker:0
