Here comes the weekend: food and wine!

I do great during the week but fall apart on the weekend. I love wine and usually drink two bottles over the course of the weekend with friends and family. The problem is that during our get togethers, which are every weekend, the finger food comes out. Since I am eating fruit and veggies all week, I don't want to take them in an attempt to avoid the other options (very tasty options). Any ideas?? :drinker:

I think my usual strategy is to make sure I have a big glass of water to go with each glass of wine I might have. That slows the drinking a little, and helps keep you from getting too dehydrated. I'm not forsaking the things I want, just alternating with better choices
And yeah, finger food is tough. Can you bring healthier contributions? At the end of the day, you're not giving up all tasty unhealthy foods forever, you're just eating them in moderation along with the better stuff. When you fill your plate, can you decide to fill at least 50% of it (75%?) with the better choices? Then just decide which of the "bad" stuff you want the most. And I tend to find if I eat a full meal early in the partying process, I'm less likely to snack later. Just snacking all night usually ends in disaster, haha.
Although, I will add, if you find that the drinking tends to get you eating way more than planned... well, if you lose your self-control after a certain amount of alcohol, it's time to decide if it's necessary to cut back. You know? But that's totally dependent on the person. Good luck!0
