Sleeping better?

I've always heard that exercising regularly will help a person's sleep. Have you found this to be true? If so, how long did it take?
I've been at this for about 6 weeks now. I exercise 5-6 times a week in the mornings for 40-60 minutes each (depending how much energy and time I have before work), but I'm still not sleeping any better. In the past, I've had a hard time falling asleep, and then when I do, I wake up every hour or two and have to try to get back to sleep again. Some of the time it's because my brain is busy, other times I don't know what the deal is. I haven't really seen any changes yet. I'm definitely tired enough to sleep now, but it just doesn't happen like people say it should.
