Knew it would happen sooner or later, I've hit a plateau, and I am having a difficult time getting OFF it. I'm not giving up, but I feel a little disheartened, and right now I think I could stand a little motivation.

Well, they do happen to all of us. Trust me. It should pass, a couple of things you can do to maybe kickstart the metabolism again though. Change up your workouts, try working out a completely different way, I.E. if you use the eliptical every day, try doing circuit training for a month or so instead, or swimming, or take a spinning class. Muscles can form memory, making them more efficient at a specific action, thus burning less calories (I have heard up to 20%). Good for training for a marathon, bad for calorie burn.
The other thing you can do is shock your system, for 1 day eat well over your caloric intake (just one day mind you), sometimes that shocks the body into thinking, "Oh, look at all this fuel, I guess I don't need to store so much because I have plenty comming in." And it may boost up your metabolism. This one can get scary, but it's a proven technique, and remember, one day never killed a diet, it's that 2nd day that determines if you fall off the wagon or just had a day of pleasure.

Caloric cycling is usually a great idea to trick your body. Say, for instance, I am allowed 1200 calories. One day I eat 1200 and the next 1400...so on and so on. I've told someone else this very same thing, just remember not to get frustrated because of this. Think of it as a learning process in which you can conduct mini experiments to fake out your body. It can actually be very interesting to see what works and what doesn't. Good luck to you!

I just wanted to lend my support to you and tell you that I do feel your pain! I have/had been on a plateau for over five weeks....i got very disheartened and ended up falling off the wagon for a week...
