Do whatever works best for you.0

I just wondered if a person should fuel up their body so to speak before running it by excersizing.0

Some people prefer to exercise while fasted, some will have something small before, and some will have a full meal.
I prefer to eat something before I exercise as it gives me the energy I need however, I have to wait to exercise for a bit or I feel sick. If you find not eating before exercising doesn't give you the same energy for your workouts as you have when eating before than eat.
It all depends on you and what works best. Try it out both ways and see how you feel. If you don't have as much energy exercising before eating than you do wehn you eat before, there's your answer.0 -
Before workout. But its really up to you.0

If it's during the workweek I usually just run out the door and have a piece of fruit after the gym then eat breakfast at my desk at work. If it's not a workday I usually have fruit before a workout then breakfast after.0

I always eat after. I get up at 4:30, commute to my office, but hit the gym across the street first. I don't eat until 7:00am, M-F, and that's after my 45 minutes in the gym.
I cannot eat before, or I'd throw up on the treadmill.0 -
I eat before if it involves strength training and after if it's cardio. Or if I'm feeling like I need a little something before cardio I have something small like a fruit.0

You have to find what works best for your body. It's going to vary from person to person. Personally I always have a little something before a workout, but will wait until after to have a full meal.0

I might have a very light snack...banana or something on the way to the gym. I can't workout on a full stomach...I'd probably start puking my guts out with an intense lifting or cardio session.
It really depends on you...what your exercise routine is like, etc. So long as you are properly fueling your body, the timing doesn't really matter unless you have very specific fitness goals.0 -
I eat a light combo of protein and carbs before (like half a banana with some peanut butter or cottage cheese and fruit) and then a bigger combo of protein and carbs after. I was trying to do it without eating and finding myself wanting to throw up about halfway through.0

I either attempt running or spinning in the AM. Since I am a half dead zombie for. Good 30 minutes, I work out after. I'm not functioning enough at a high enough rate to make food.0

Thank you all for your input!! On my work days I don't workout until I get home, just not enough time in the morning. On my days off I prefer to workout first thing before any chores etc. I will have to try both ways and see what works best I suppose. If I eat first I will certainly wait a bit before working out tho.. But I think what would be best is just something light before hand and then perhaps a protein shake after my workouts.0
