Herniated Disc

I was in a car accident in December 2010 & have had alot of trouble with my back ever since. I now have a herniated disc in my lower back, which caused sciatica. I stopped being active (the wrong thing to do), but all I wanted to do was rest in the evenings. I am an elementary teacher & up all day. Three weeks ago, I found a gym that I love & have worked out 4-5 days a week since. Using MFP too, I am already down about 8 lbs & my back is feeling better already. Just curious if anyone has suggestions for the nest excersizes for a herniated disc. I would love to avoid having surgery as I am fairly young. Any suggestions would be great!!

Congrats on not letting the injury stop you from working out!
But I really think you need to talk to a chiropractor about what exercises are appropriate.0
