A friend sent me this link and I was seriously fascinated. I just had to share it here.

It has photos from a photo essay showing a number of families around the world in their living area, with their typical week's worth of food, starting in Asia and ending in Africa.
Which week's worth of food is best? How does it compare with yours? Discuss!

Cairo! Seems to be a nice mix of greens, meat and carbs. I'd probably be Muslim and so not very drinky which would be disappointing. But on the whole the best option for me I think.0

Well the inclusion of the last one is just ridiculous. How can they even attempt to compare people surviving in a refugee camp with the food expenditure of other people around the world. :noway:
Yes, how dare they even consider we think about people like that! Maybe the point is you can live on a bag of rice and some fruits and veggies without spending hundreds of dollars on pizza, pop, chips and beer? Or that you could take a moment to think about a good part of the world's population who aren't able to afford good food?0 -
Wow, this was very interesting. Thanks for posting! One thing that I noticed is that based on these pictures, everyone except the American family eats generally pretty healthy. The American family's picture was filled with chips, pizzas, sugary drinks, etc. Hardly any vegetables in sight. I think this just goes to show how gluttonous we are as a country.0
