Just curious if anyone is tackling either 1001 books to read before you die or 1001 movies to watch before you die? I'm doing the books and my hubby and I arre doing the movies...If you are, what's your favorite you've watched/read so far?
Book: ? liked them(the 47 I've read so far) all except The Old Man and the Sea
Movie: Tsutsi was great....United 93 made me cry....Gone with the Wind :)

I received the 1001 movies to watch before you die a few years ago and completely forgot I had it!

Thanks for the reminder! I now have to tackle this book/movie list as I'm a massive movie buff.

I love reading as well, so may just have to buy the 1001 books to read before you die book. I'm currently reading Cross Country by James Patterson, but methinks it's not on that list. Do tell, though, is his book Kiss the Girls at least on that list???

Thanks for the tip on the free online list! Off to go find it and see how many books I've read off that list.

No. I"ve never gotten that list? It's okay because I am currently on the 1001 movies to watch before I die from boredom list provided by my hubby. they include steven segal & arnold shwarznegger movies, every megablockbuster from the 90's, 80's low budget obscure kids movies featuring ppl like sinbad and etc, and some weird odds and ends.

My list I use is from the book. I actually have more than 1001 on there...I took the original list and added the new ones for each year up until last year when I started :D p.s.I found the Old Man and the Sea....I suppose annoying is the right word. I hated that the poor guy did all that for nothing :( oh and I have both lists saved on my computer and can share if anyone wants/needs me to :)

Will have to check this out...love reading and love movies, will be interesting to see how many I've seen off the list and how many of my faves aren't on there!
  • I can't read classics anymore.

That's an incredibly sad thing to hear.

I don't have the 1001 books, movies, or albums lists, but I would say smart money has me at over 300 for each of them [likely 500+ for albums].

Apparently, they've produced a video game version for the series as well, though I can't imagine I've played more than fifty or so of those.

Hmm nah.. I just read whatever seems good, not minding the list. This list doesn't include books that will be published in the future, obviously, and I wouldn't enjoy all of them. It's a good thing to check out when you're looking for some new ideas.
