Food allergies/intolerances and losing weight

Hey all,

I have both lactose and soy intolerances.I'm wondering if: a) anyone else has the same or similar and b) what do you do to substitute? Many of the prepackages low calorie foods contain either or both of these.

Thanks

I personally have corn/dairy intolerances and peanut and tree nut allergies, as well as Celiacs, but in our house as a whole we have corn/diary/penaut/ treenut/corn/soy/gluten inolerances/allergies. So yes, we work around what you have.

Our answer is simple. We don't buy pre-packaged foods, because like you said. Most of them do contain dairy or soy, and if they don't have dairy or soy, they have gluten.

We have found a few safe packaged things, plain rice cakes, 1 brand of rice crackers, and things like raisins, applesauce etc. In place of soy sauce we use coconut aminos, its a little bit sweeter and not as strong as soy sauce, but it does the job. "Enjoy Life" foods are all soy/dairy free, but they are also gluten/corn/nut/the list goes on, and if you aren't used to things like that they might not taste great to you.

We generally stick to naturally "safe" foods, fruits, veggies, meats and things that I bake myself.
