Back surgery

I just had a microdisectomy on lower back on Tuesday. I am very eager to work out just not sure how long before and what to start off with. I had my car accident a year and a half ago and was messed up pretty bad it made it painful and difficult to work out. On top of trying to manage my pcos I have gained over 30lbs since my accident that happened 2 months after having my daughter, so on top of weight before and during my pregnancy. So less just say the past 2 years have been rough. I have been eating clean during my recovery and have adjusted my meds and just started my Shakeology again. Anyone have tips or experience with recovery from this surgery? I am so ready to start and continue on this journey to finally be healthy and pain free!

Of course, you can eat healthy at anytime. The working out thing I think you should ask your doctor/surgeon/or physical therapist. I had a couple ankle surgeries and the times before I could start working out were vastly different with both. The first, it was 6 months before I could even walk without crutches and about a year before I could run. The second about 2-3 months. You don't want to re-injure yourself so definitely stick with what the doc orders.

I had a disectomy and fusion in my neck - my surgeon told me 1 year until I could do any serious working out. Ask your doc.

Yeah definitely listen to doc! And physio, if you have one. Walking or swimming's probably safest for now.
