Let me start by saying that I work nights. So when I fill out my food log I fill it out from 2pm-6am. So, I got up around 3pm today (Saturday) and will be at work until 6am Sunday. Anything ate after midnight still goes on Saturday's log.
I have been having a really hard time getting up early enough to go to the gym on a day that I worked the night before and i work that night. My schedule was Friday, Saturday, Sunday for this weekend. I was supposed to go to the gym Saturday. I just couldn't get up, I was too tired. So instead I plan to go after work.
This is where the complex question comes in. Do I log my workout on Saturday's log? Or Sunday's? I'm going to go to bed shortly after my workout. I just can't figure this out! I know it's not ideal, or at least no more benefit, to working out before bed, but it's the only way I'm going to get a workout in this weekend.
Thanks!

In the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter. Some people separate their "day" by when they sleep, some go midnight to midnight. Put the exercise whichever day you want-it really isn't going to matter-your body has no idea that its a new day or not. If its easier for you, put it on Saturday (since that's where all your food before you fell asleep is going) or put it on Sunday because that's when you did it. Whatever-whether your calorie deficit is maintained between midnight and midnight vs some other time period (like even a week), you're good. So do what makes sense to you-or try one way and if it doesn't work, change it.0
