Do sodas make you forget?

Not to encourage anyone to pour a shot of perfectly good liquor in a diet soda and wake up in the morning with a hangover and no recollection of the night before, but do sodas make you forget? In a mostly distant future and for good that is. Here's some connecting the dots. You can take it or leave it.

Visceral fat, known as belly fat, promotes insulin resistance, which leads to type 2 diabetes, a disease that has nearly tripled in the United States in the last 40 years. Sugary drinks contribute directly to the increase of this type of fat, which is the worst of all fats when beyond a natural minimum; those who store fat in their bellies are at higher risk of heart disease, stroke and certain cancers as well.

We also already know that people with diabetes are at least twice as likely to get Alzheimer's. Here is where it gets interesting. Alzheimer's and diabetes have the same root: an over-consumption of those "foods" that mess with insulin's many roles. When the cells in your brain become insulin-resistant, you start to lose memory and become disoriented. Alzheimer's has, not surprisingly, been named type 3 diabetes. Do you still feel like having a soda?
