So far, been doing this for about a week and everyday, I go over the protein goal. Is this important to stay within the goal? What does it hurt if you go over your protein goal?

Going over isn't a problem. Protein is important for weight loss goals, as it has the building blocks for muscle.0

If you eat exceedingly above and beyond protein levels you can get something called "protein toxicity," but I'm certain you would have to eat absurd amounts and eat little fruits and veggies to reach that level.0

I'm not happy until I go over!0

I have trouble meeting my protein goal! Don't know what to do other than to add protein powder to things.0

if you are consuming 1.0- 1.3g of protein per body weight(in lbs) you should be fine0
