Joined the site about a week ago. I am male, 245lbs and 6ft. Waist 48, hips 44, neck 16.

In all honesty, have always been big but never really tried hard to lose weight - just never been a concern.

However, I turned 30 a few weeks ago and we are trying for a baby. Also, been having a few minor health problems recently - dodgy ankle, IBS... Part of me also thinks that if I conformed to the "norm" a bit more it can't help my prospects at work (I know it's a little cynical, but I work at a financial company, and am by far the bulkiest person there).

I figure it's about time to stop being dumb and get into shape. I like the site, I think it's actually good to realize that a 1lb per week is a reasonable goal and not to expect things to go super quickly.
