Ran my first mile, without stopping!

NSV alert!!! I just got back from the gym, and I couldn't even imagine this 3 weeks ago when I started MFP but.... I ran a whole mile, without stopping in under 13 minutes! Thank you for all the support!

Great job! Are you doing Couch to 5k?
  • I don't even know what that is... today I just felt like I wanted to run a mile, the longest I ever ran on the treadmill before today was .10 miles... but I'd love to do a 5k in a few months!
  • Great job!

Congrats!! I remember that feeling like it was yesterday! Keep going! I ran my first half-marathon in September when 2 years ago I couldn't run 2 minutes much less a whole mile.
  • amazing inspiration! I hope that's me one day!

That's so wonderful! I'd be doing karate chops and high kicks in some sort of weird happy dance if I were you!

*a million high fives for a wonderful NSV*

I remember that feeling and being so proud of myself! Then about a year later I finished my first triathlon. It's pretty amazing what the body can do when we really work at it :-D

You caught the bug. Now your addicted, Go look for a 5k near you. Sign up and then figure our how long you have to train. Do C25k, you can skip a little bit even. start on week 2.

    You won't regret it.
  • Awesome Job! It is those type of successes that get you going. Last May I ran my first 5k (had to walk some of it) and then in October ran my first 1/2 Marathon. I was like you - couldn't run hardly at all, but bit by bit it comes around. The couch to 5k is a great training tool to get you to your 1st 5k. Keep it up!
  • Good job! That is wonderful milestone:-)
