Inconsistent body measurements - how to improve?

Hi everyone, this is my first post!
Every time I have tried to track body measurements in the past, they have come out wildly different each week.
I used to do waist, right thigh, chest, right arm and bum. However I'd always come up with 1-2 centimeters of difference (more AND less) each week. Obviously I'm not very good at hitting the same part of the limb each time!
Do you guys have any tips or tricks to getting your tape measurements consistent? I'd really like to keep a track of these asap, as I think it shows the most difference over time.

I'm having the same problem, so I just ordered a different kind of tape measure so that the tightness is consistent.

Thanks, I just had a look at that thread. I like the "7 inches from shoulder" tip and also, measuring at your belly button.
Perhaps I will tape a photo to my mirror to help with the placement of the tape. I use a tailors tape too!
